Gymnastics improves a child’s strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility. For young children, gymnastics classes provide an opportunity to socialize with other children their age, while introducing them to the concept of a routine and a teacher.
When children attempt something new or risky in our controlled and safe environment, it helps them learn their physical boundaries and develop spatial awareness. As they accomplish skills, they gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Your child should wear anything that makes them happy and that they’re comfortable moving in.
What should my child wear?
Do you have multiple classes going on at once?
No, for safety reasons and to minimize distraction and overstimulation, we have one class going on at a time.
Class structure varies by age group. Please remember that children at this age learn through play and experience, and are not expected to sit still and focus for long.
Parent child classes are a mixture of structured activities and time for children to explore the gym and socialize.
Classes for 3-5 year olds are structured based on a weekly theme. They are encouraged to participate in movement songs, obstacle courses, and games, while focusing on a couple of more difficult key skills each week.
Classes for 6-12 year olds begin with a warm up, incorporate stations of skills for the children to practice, and end with a game.
